Ed Sheeran, an English acoustic and pop singer and song writer is originally from Halifax in West Yorkshire. Ed attended the National Youth Theatre during his teenage years and became famous after fans located some of his performances on youTube through the SB: TV.
In 2011, he appeared in a professional capacity with the No. 5 Collaborations Project, this was one of many song releases that provided him with a record deal with Asylum/Atlantic as well as his debut called full-length ‘+’. His track, ‘The A team’, was a single hit and brought him into the limelight, he won a few Ivor Novello and BRITS awards and then went on to collect some more awards around the world. Sheeran did a few live tours in 2011 and 2013 and has also been on stage with Snow Patrol and Taylor Swift in the United States.

Her self-titled release dating back in 2006 was certified as platinum and she has broken several records all over the world with other releases that have followed. Her record ‘Fearless’ got a double platinum status and was the biggest debut in the US for a female artist in the same year. Swift debutted more than 1 single within the top 5 in 1 calendar year. Her and Mariah Carey are the only female artists in American history to have achieved this. Her record, ‘Red’, released in 2014, topped the music charts all over the globe and shifted millions of units internationally.
Taylor Swift’s popular venture, ‘The Red Tour’ came to the UK in 2014. In 2015, Swift hit the headlines again in Hyde Park, London, and also went on to perform in Glasgow and Manchester after releasing another album, ‘1989’. Roxette, a Swedish adult/pop-rock pair from Halmstad formed back in 1986. Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle have gone on to find fame internationally since starting their music career. They set out with the aim of conquering the world of pop, having achieved 33 singles hits, a number 1 studio album, platinum-selling status and more than 75 million record sales all over the world, it’s probably safe to say they’ve accomplished their goal.
Roxette’s two popular songs, ‘Listen to Your Heart’ and ‘It Must Have Been Love’ are still played on the radio today. Both songs have received BMI awards for hitting the 4 million play mark. Roxette have also picked up BRIT and Juno awards for some of their other songs and it seems their collection is continuing to grow. A-ha, a Norwegian new wave pop group who arrived on the music scene in 1982. The band has 3 members – Paul Waaktaar-Savoy, Magne Furuholmen and Morten Harket. The group sold more than 80 million of their records prior to their 2009 & 2015 albums and also went on to become a top-grossing live act amongst a few other famous artists. A-ha are well-recognised for varied singles, although their best and most iconic is ‘Take On me’, followed by ‘The Sun Always Shines on T.V’.
